Full Time Recovery Support Specialist – Resident Facility

Liberty Bay Recovery is looking for a hardworking Support Staff member to provide daily non-clinical ancillary services to our guests.  This position works with clients to improve their overall mental health and recovery, improve daily living skills, generating increased wellness, quality of life, ability to maintain a clean and sober lifestyle, and obtain the skills and tools to become a responsible and productive member of society.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Observe and report any notable information via email while supervising clients.
  • Monitors and supervises clients.
  • Transports clients to and from houses, meetings, Liberty Bay and various other events; adhering to all traffic and safety laws while operating a company vehicle.
  • Performs routine safety checks of the houses to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrates appropriate, professional boundaries when interacting with clients.
  • On Saturdays and Sundays, transport clients to the center at 8:00AM and 6:00PM for daily medications.
  • Assists other Support Staff with tasks as required.
  • Runs errands for the facility and clients as needed.
  • Weekly grocery/personal shopping for clients.
  • Performs regular facility organization and maintenance.
  • Completes all housing checks, facility checks and job duties checklists on a weekly basis.
  • Covers the front desk for his/her lunch break.
  • Travel out of state and long distances to bring clients to and from the facility and to appointments; adhering to all traffic and safety laws while operating a company vehicle.
  • Performs routine maintenance checks of company vehicles (fluid, air, light checks, etc.).
  • Assists with the inspection of client belongings as needed.
  • Brings detox and residential clients outside for smoke breaks as needed.
  • Demonstrates appropriate, professional boundaries when interacting with clients.
  • Assists other Support Staff with tasks as required.
  • Preparing bedrooms for new admissions, which includes dressing beds with clean sheets and comforter, vacuuming the carpet, cleaning all hard surfaces and ensuring each room has the proper accommodations (alarm clock, sound machine, fan, hamper, etc.).
  • Keeping the housekeeping cart organized and stocked.
  • Laundry.
  • Vacuum, sweep and mop flooring; steam clean carpets as needed.
  • Deep cleaning all bathrooms to include mopping floors, cleaning all countertops, wiping mirrors and fixtures, sanitizing shower stalls, stocking bathrooms with towels, taking out trashes, etc.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the day rooms, which includes removing any dishes or trash, folding and putting away blankets, straightening pillows, sanitizing hard surfaces, etc.
  • Demonstrates appropriate, professional boundaries when interacting with clients.
  • Assists other Support Staff with tasks as required.
  • Tidying up the dining area after mealtimes to include wiping all tables and chairs, pushing in chairs, sweeping and mopping the floor, emptying trashes, etc.
  • Follows instructions from Head Chef to prepare lunch and dinner by scheduled mealtime.
  • Puts out food and condiments for mealtimes, properly stores leftovers, and cleans up after mealtimes.
  • Wash and dry dishes, take out trashes and broken-down boxes, and stock items in serving areas as needed.
  • Performs routine deep clean of kitchen area including sweeping/mopping kitchen floor, cleaning inside and out of reach-ins, cleaning steam table, fryolator, etc.
  • Demonstrates appropriate, professional boundaries when interacting with clients.
  • Assists other Support Staff with tasks as required
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass State of Maine criminal background and driving record checks.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 12-step recovery knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to follow and complete a task list on a daily basis.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior work experience in a substance abuse facility a plus.
